About Kirby Walls
Kirby grew up in a small coastal town in North Carolina, where his father, his grandfather, and his great-grandfather were all raised. Although he enjoyed spending much of his time outdoors: fishing, surfing and exploring, he learned a great work ethic through his elders that remains true today. After moving to Austin in 2006, Kirby worked with Constructive Ventures Inc, a prominent real estate development firm. While at CVI, Kirby served as a construction project manager on large multi-family buildings within the urban core of Austin. After several years of growing projects, Kirby decided it was time to focus on his dream of creating and developing beautiful structures in the Dripping Springs area. He has since generated his own construction & development business, Kirby Walls Custom Builders.. Kirby lives in Dripping Springs with his wife Cameron, and his two children.
Kirby draws his inspiration from his love of nature, creating beautiful homes and structures in the heart of the Hill Country. As an avid mountain biker, Kirby often locates potential building sites while out exploring. Kirby believes in adapting to and utilizing the natural resources available, focusing on and integrating the following into his work:
For us, innovation means continually evolving our design and building practices to create better homes. We research advances in building materials and methods to streamline the building process, increase energy efficiency and create homes suited for emerging technologies. This may include state-of-the-art framing solutions, new composite materials, comprehensive lighting systems and built in technology infrastructures. Our goal is to ensure the most-up-to-date and effective techniques and materials are used to build your home.
For each project, sustainable building practices are reviewed with our clients to optimize the home site, minimize energy use and utilize environmentally preferable products when possible. Whether it is preserving trees on the building site, utilizing solar water heating, creating a water catchment system or using salvaged wood beams, we will consider the best ways to incorporate sustainable practices into our process while maintaining aesthetics, cost effectiveness and functionality.
We love to build homes, but never lose sight that we are building it for you. Is the kitchen the focus of activity in your home? Is conservation and energy efficiency a key concern? Is outdoor living as important to you as indoor living? It is through close collaboration and understanding of your goals, desires, tastes and needs that we design and build a home specifically for you.
