OUR BUILD PROCESS

PRE-CONSTRUCTION

Pre-construction client involvement will consist of site layout and schedule review. We will walk your build site with you to select locations for items such as driveway entrances, flatwork (walkways), well location, rainwater collection location, septic location (if applicable), and any other decisions that need to be made prior to starting work on the foundation. We will also review your construction schedule so that you are informed of deadlines and critical path items throughout the construction process.

FINISH SELECTION PROCESS

This process is what really makes a custom home your own. During pre-construction and throughout the build process you will be selecting all of the interior and exterior finishes; such as, windows, doors, masonry, siding, flooring, tile, cabinetry, paint and stain colors, and landscaping details. It can be a daunting task, but we are here to help guide you through the process. Our in-house interior designer and project coordinator are both available for consultation and guidance.

CONSTRUCTION MEETINGS

You will be invited to on-site meetings with your project manager, vendors, and tradesmen. These meeting will allow you to see the progress being made, meet with trades and ask any questions that might be on your mind. It is also a great opportunity to see samples of your selections on the mockup, in the same environment as they will appear on your home.

WEEKLY CONSTRUCTION UPDATES

Your project manager will email you a weekly construction update. This will include construction activities from the current week, what is expected the following week and any items of note pertaining to your build.

TRADE WALK-THROUGHS

At various points throughout the construction process we will request that you meet with us and certain trades on-site to discuss your preferred locations for items throughout the home. These may include lighting and electrical fixture locations, plumbing fixture and valve locations, audio and video components, and millwork specifications.

PROJECT TURNOVER

At the conclusion of your project, we will provide you with a home specification guide. It will include warranty information, contact information for us and any applicable trades, paint colors, appliance manuals, and maintenance schedules to keep your new home at its best for years to come.
